Gaining Approval

Governor John Stuchell Fisher signed the bill authorizing the All Wars Memorial to Colored Soldiers and Sailors in 1927. He also set up a commission of nine men to serve on the Colored Soldiers Statue Commission to choose a design for the memorial and follow the project to completion.
